Is there a corresponding award for Things that Initially Seem to Make Sense but are Actually Stupid?

My nomination for this would be the rubric in the Ordinary Form of the Mass concerning the Allelulia: "If this is not sung, it may be omitted". If it is omitted, how do you tell if it was sung or not?
